National Nutrition Month - Vitamin D

With March being National Nutrition Month, we have been focusing on foods and supplements that provide us with the nutrients needed to keep healthy.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin found in some foods in very minimal amounts including fish, mushrooms, and eggs.

There are a few nutrients that work together with vitamin D to help absorb and assimilate essential elements.

  • Vitamin D helps calcium get absorbed from foods.
  • Vitamin K is important to supplement with vitamin D because it ensures that the calcium gets into the bones. See our K2-D3 supplement.
  •  Magnesium helps convert Vitamin D from foods and supplements to its active form where it can perform functions. Many of us are deficient in magnesium and may need to supplement with a chelated form like MagAbsorb.
